There is an exceptionally high standard of education in the UAE with many schools exceeding the expected standard for that year group.
Schools fall into 2 categories, local and private international and generally the international ones are favoured by the new expats.
Various national curriculum syllabuses are practiced in Abu Dhabi – British, American, and International Baccalaureate and in a few cases combinations of different curriculum.

School fees in Abu Dhabi are expensive ranging from 10,000AED to 25,000AED per term for both local and international primary schools and even higher for the more senior levels. However, many employment contracts will include payment of these fees as part of the remuneration package.
Schools generally house classes of no more than 25 children, they are well staffed and offer excellent facilities. All schools offer a wide variety of extra-curricular activities and a great emphasis is placed on sports, thanks to the very favourable weather we enjoy here in Abu Dhabi. Most international schools are mixed with boys and girls.
Several primary schools are in the process of providing the facilities for secondary schools; this will enhance the continuity of education but equally as important, carry on the ethos and good reputation which many Abu Dhabi Primary Schools have earned down through the years.
As the population of Abu Dhabi grows, there are several new schools nearing completion to meet the demand, these are mainly within the vicinity of the new residential developments.
Kids are introduced to Arabic and the Arabic culture at an early age and many extra-curricular activities (both indoor and outdoor) are on offer.
