  • When planning your move to Abu Dhabi, visit a chosen number of schools to get an insight into operations, ethos etc before making your decision.
  • Explore expatriate residential areas in Abu Dhabi that are proximal to schools, bearing in mind lots of time and energies will be spent around school life. Many of the older schools in Abu Dhabi will be quite far from the newer residential areas.
  • All schools are fee-paying, some employers provide for school fees as part of the employment contract. Negotiate this if possible.
  • Once your move to Abu Dhabi is confirmed, it is important to register with a school or even a number of schools as soon as possible. In most cases this can be done on line. Many of the established schools have extensive waiting lists, however, this should be now somewhat alleviated by the new schools coming on stream.
  • To register for a school in Abu Dhabi, you will need to submit
  1. Copy of Child's passport & visa (or a letter from your employer confirming your post and that the visa is being processed)
  2. Your Childs Birth Certificate.
  3. A transfer letter from referring school detailing your child’s education to date.
  4. Copies of end of academic year reports to date and an interim report if your child is joining during an academic year.
  5. Copies of Medical / Immunization records.
  6. Several recent passport photos.

Your child may be asked to complete an assessment, to determine suitability for the school and also for grading purposes once placed.
