Moving to Abu Dhabi...
Accommodation in Abu Dhabi can be of varying standards, ranging from plush new developments with their general high standard interiors and well maintained landscaped surrounds to the more established, older properties that have sometimes been less well maintained throughout the years and will almost certainly need work on taking possession.
Property can sometimes be hard to come by in Abu Dhabi. The city has been less affected by the global economic downturn than most places and many Abu Dhabi companies have continued to recruit in the past twelve months. Demand for quality accommodation continues to outstrip supply.
As a result, accommodation is expensive whether renting or buying; though prices vary from location to location. Rent inflation has been capped by the Abu Dhabi Government for rent renewals however there is limited legislation to cover new agreements.
Traditionally, rent was payable in advance for the year, however nowadays the rent committee has suggested that landlords be more lenient in this matter and accept quarterly or monthly rental cheques. This has been gratefully received by many tenants.
