Arriving in Abu Dhabi is relatively straight forward. The airport www.abudhabiairport.ae is easy to navigate with most signs in English.
Travel within the Emirates is manageable by road but other gulf regions are really only mainly accessible by air, namely Emirates Airlines, Etihad, Gulf Air, Qatar Airways, Oman Air and Saudia Airlines. Bahrain is a one hour flight whilst Riyadh is a three hour flight away. It is recommended to book these flights in advance, especially at school holiday time and on the occasion of religious festivities and celebrations. Check also if a visiting visa is required for the country you are visiting, organizing your visa in advance can save lots of time. (Visas can be arranged through the appropriate embassies and generally take no more than a day!).
