Abu Dhabi has much to offer from an art prospective, both contemporary and traditional and as the city grows it attracts more and more international attention.

The UAE draws on its rich culture and traditions to produce many interesting collections.

In recent years, Iranian Art has become very popular and represents good value.

There are several art galleries dotted around Abu Dhabi and exhibits are also frequently displayed in hotel lobbies, Shopping Malls etc. The lobby of Emirates Palace hosts some amazing international art exhibitions – Picasso Abu Dhabi in 2008 and many others. www.artsabudhabi.com

The Louvre Gallery Abu Dhabi is presently under construction on Saadiyat Island and is due to open in 2010.

Art Exhibitions and similar events are advertised weekly on Time Out Abu Dhabi, What’s on, radio stations and newspapers.

The Abu Dhabi Cultural Foundation hosts many exhibitions and supports local artists. The Foundation also runs art workshops in oils, watercolours, sculpture, mosaics, Arabian calligraphy and photography.
