School day is typically 7.45am to 3.45pm, many schools operate school buses. Schools offer a variety of afterschool activities running during term time and there are always afterschool study groups!
Possession or consumption of alcohol is strictly forbidden until the age of 21. Parents are held responsible for their children’s actions until this age.
Entry to night clubs is also over 21 and this is strictly adhered to.
It is advisable to carry photographic identity at all times.
Smoking is actively discouraged with great efforts being made by the Abu Dhabi Health Authority to prohibit smoking in public places. www.haad.ae
The possession or use of non prescription drugs is a serious criminal offence in the UAE and a prison sentence will certainly ensue.
The legal driving age is 18 years, there are numerous driving schools in Abu Dhabi, a government endorsed one is highly recommended and seeking recommendations from friends or colleagues is strongly advised.
