WEEKEND IDEAS FROM ABU DHABI

Desert Island Resort & Spa -The Desert Island Resort & Spa on Sir Bani Yas Island allows full access to the Arabian Wildlife park, this park is home to several thousand free roaming animals.

Dubai Autodrome – kids from 7 years up (go karts and modified cars for kids) can participate in this adrenaline pumping sport, all safety aspects are covered. Helmets, gloves and suits are all supplied.

Dubai Ice Rink – newly opened at Dubai Mall, learn to skate by joining one of their ‘learn to skate’ programmes, endless family fun.

Atlantis Dubai - visit the all new Atlantis and adjacent Aqua Venture, Dubai’s latest water park. Relax by the pool taking the breathtaking views of the Palm Jumeirah, Burj Al Arab and the great Burj Dubai in the distance. Enjoy dinner in one of the many 5 star restaurants it has on offer.

Bab Al Shams – take a trip into the desert, approx 40 minutes from Dubai and enjoy this 5 star desert retreat. Treat yourself to a spa treatment or two at the Satori Spa. Enjoy dinner in the authentic open air Arabic restaurant – Al Hadheerah. The kids will enjoy the kids club with camel rides and falcon displays.

Hatta Fort- About an hour’s drive from Dubai on the Oman sits the oasis that is Hatta Fort. With entertainment and sport for all the family as well as a Friday BBQ it is well worth a visit.

CAMPING – There are many suitable desert locations. Go in groups and with someone who has prior desert and camping experience. Set up camp whilst it is still bright, familiarize yourselves with the surrounding terrain. The kids will love this experience.

EAST COAST – The coast, desert and mountains provide plenty of opportunity to explore the great outdoors. Activities are varied from camping , off road driving, snorkeling , scuba diving , sightseeing and even some relaxation away from the hustle and bustle of city living.
