Once finished exploring Abu Dhabi and the UAE, there are several exciting neighbouring destinations all displaying the rich, colorful cultural heritage that the Middle East is readily known for.
Bahrain, Oman and Qatar are all within a short flight distance and individually offer much to the tourist. For the sporting enthusiast Bahrain hosts the Bahrain Grand Prix each March while Qatar hosts the Qatar Masters Golf Tournament.
Further afield, but still within a four hour flight are destinations such as Egypt, Cyprus, Maldives, India to name just a few. These are ideal for a quick weekend getaway or for shorter breaks time permitting. There are many public holidays and extended breaks associated with Eid Celebrations/ Christmas etc in the UAE allowing several opportunities to take short breaks during the year.
These breaks can of course be booked through one of the many travel agents in Abu Dhabi or direct with the airline and hotel. Check both to obtain the best deal. Off peak deals are also available; these deals tend to be associated with children returning to school, hot summer months etc. They are well worth taking a look at, if you are not dependant on school holidays.
